What is a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
A certificate signing request is generated each time a certificate is created. This
file is used when you need to sign a certificate. Once the certificate signing request
file is signed, a new signed certificate is made, which can replace the unsigned
certificate

access to https. This is required for GeoTrust, Verisign, Thawte and all
other types of SSL Certificates.
