Installation Instructions - O Reilly Web Site Proffessional 2.x
Follow these instructions to generate a CSR for your Web site. When you have completed
this process, you will have a CSR ready to submit to SSLStar.com in order to be
generated into a SSL Security Certificate.
Copy your web server certificate into a text editor such as notepad and save
as yourdomain.crt.
Copy the Root CA certificate found at the bottom of this page into a text
editor such as notepad and save it as root.crt. Install the Root CA certificate
- Click the Key Ring tab.
- Click the Show Trusted roots box in the lower left corner - all the existing
Trusted Roots are displayed.
- Click on Add Trusted Root button.
- At the Files of type box select All files. Locate the file root.crt
previously saved, and click Open.
Install your web server certificate
- Right click on your black key ring that displays the yellow question mark.
- Select Attach Certificate.
- Right click on your black key ring that displays the yellow question mark.
- Select Attach Certificate.
- Select Files of type All files and open the certificate file root.crt.
- Notice that your keyring is now green and ready to use.
- Click Yes to update the server settings.
- Restart your server.
Test your certificate by connecting to your server.
Use the https protocol directive (e.g. https://your server/) to indicate you wish
to use secure HTTP.
Note: The padlock icon on your Web browser will be displayed in the locked position
if you have set up your site properly.
